anyone ever do passive restraint??

My 91 SL has the passive restraint belts in it. The driver's side doesn't work anymore. You can hear the motor run and click but the belt doesn't move. I have it locked in the up position, so I can drive it. It's been broken for quite a few years now. Last time I looked the dealer wanted $300 for the parts. I guess it comes with the cable and the motor. I went to the local junk yard and I told the guy what I needed. He said if it's a seat belt part it would be $10. :) I went through the yard and found one that has what I need.. ( at least I think it does )

Myquestion is how hard is it to change something like that??

Thanks for any suggestions....

I suspect, because I have never done it, that if I bought the manual to tell me how, I would not bother trying. My 94 had the same problem shortly after I bought the car in 1996 and it was fixed under a recall or a warrenty, don't remember now and astronomical was the cost estimate if I had to pay for it
