Recently I purchased a 1997 Saturn SL with the ABS light on. I have a mechanic who works on my cars and he has a Snap-On code scanner. The car's computer will not respond to the scanner. It comes up with the brake-switch code then just goes blank. I have replaced the entire ABS module as well as the brake switch and I am still having the same problem. Can anyone help?

did you just replace the module, or the whole mastercylinder? It is easy to mess it up if you try just replacing the module. I just had the same problem and it was the abs controller. I got a abs master cylinder with the module from a wrecking yard, put it on, and it was fixed |
I did that, actually. I got an entire unit from a wrecked one and installed it. Still having the same problem. I even changed the brake switch!!

Was the usedmodule from a car that had been in a front end wreck? It may just be me, but buying used brake and/or electronics is a 50/50 crap shoot at best. |
