My 2000 LS2 V6 has developed a coolant leak. Where it seems to be leaking from is a small manifold located on the top of the block between the heads at the very back of the engine (the right side of the engine as you're looking under the hood). This manifold has two silver colored pipes that run down to either the trans or oil pan.

My guess is this is either an oil cooler for the engine or tranny. My guess is the air-intake manifold will need to be pulled to gain access and the gasket/sealant replaced.

Anyone have a clue as to what I am trying to describe???

I had my mechanic check this out. I was correct, the cover for the oil coolerwas leaking. In order toget to it, he would have to disassemble the entire top of the engine (upper/lower intake manifolds and everything else attached) - about an $800 repair.

Instead, a can of Bars LeakStop did the trick. No trace of any leak and just a very faint odor of coolant now.
