2007 Saturn Vue AWD Keyless Entry Programming

Well, I ordered a set of remotes for my 2007 Vue from good old Amazon and can't get them to program. Any ideas? I took the remotes to AutoZone and they work.
I've reprogrammed similar remotes on my 2003 GMC safari when I had it.
Many thanks in advance.

Took them to AutoZone and they work?

How is that verified? Not beating on you, just sounds kind of bizarre.

I think those are transponder keys and since transponder keys usually have to be programmed by the dealer, the remote entry system likely must be programmed to the vehicle as well. Not something you can do without the proper rig. I think

AutoZone has a kiosk type of thing for testing remotes, and they both responded. I tried to hold the lock button and turn the key twice (this initiated a program mode on my 03 Safari) as someone suggested, and yet another person suggested shorting certain pins on the obdII connector. (won't try that one). Hate to pay the dealer you know?

Yes I do know. Keep that wire away from the OBD2 connector. That worked for cars in the '90s when you could still put them in program mode yourself.

There is a definitive answer out there somewhere. Just to search on something like 2007 Saturn Vue RKE programming. I hope Im wrong.

And thank you for explaining the AutoZone testing thing. Learn something everyday.
