2003 Saturn VUE Alternator removal
 

I uninstalled the alternator of 2003 Saturn VUE, 3.0 engine 6 cyl, Front wheel drive. But I can not pull it out either from top or bottom. If some one has removed the same, please advise.

I'm guessing, without watching the video (too late at night) that you need to remove the wheel and all the plastic liner stuff.

If memory serves me correctly, there is some voodoo sequence of rotations of the alternator to get it out.....

Well, I DID say maybe. I can't tell either, but I THINK it all depends on the way you have the alternator facing, like derf stated. If not that, then you'll need to remove the frigging axle in order to get clearance. Although, the use of a large prybar should be noted. I don't know what the hell he's prying, though.

I have removed the passenger side front wheel, removed the plastic stuff, uninstall the alternator from the engine. Now the alternator is a loose piece. I rotated it several times in many different orientation for two hours but I could not pull it out. Then I remove the two engine mount bolts and raise the engine still I was not able to pull it out. There must be some thing that I do not know, please advise if any body has experience this issue.

Please take a picture from above and below and post so we can see what you're up against.

I read several write-ups on v6 Vue alternator replacement, and none state anything special about removal and replacement.

I was not able to figure it out. Then I bought an alternator and gave it to a mechanic who replaced it for a lobor of $150. Then I realise that new alternator has a black cover attached (with 3 screws) on the other side of pully. So when you detach alternator from engine body, turn it remove the cover, then you can roll out the alternator. The people who put video on line, do not tell the seceret. Good Luck.
