2000 Saturn 2.2 installed salvage motor no start
I installed an engine from a salvage yard in my 2000 Saturn. The engine cranks but I have no spark and no pulse at the injectors. Should there be a signal going to the crank position sensor wires? I have only 2 leads going to the sensor. Could security have anything to do with it? Thanks.

The CPS generates a signal (a series of pulses) as the crank rotates. A bad CPS will inhibit spark and usually cause the PCM to also inhibit injector pulses. I'd start by replacing the CPS -- especially if it came with the salvage engine.
Not sure about the security angle on the 3rd gen S cars... |
