I have a 1999 SL2 4dr w/5spd that keeps acting like it''s going to stall on me. It doesn''t matter how fast (or slow) I am going. Every once in awhile it gives a little "kick", like it''s not getting fuel. It has now started to act like it''s going to stall while I''m idling (like at a stop light). It hasn''t actually quit on me, but I don''t know what the problem is. I have used fuel injector cleaner in the gas, but not sure if that''s the problem. Help!

Questions: (1) Does this problem exist/occur regardless of how much fuel is in the tank ? (2) Has the engine set any codes ? (3) Have you recently started to get your gas a a different dealer ? (4) How many miles on the vehicle ? |
OceanArcher, It doesn''t matter how much fuel is in the tank. I have been buying fuel from the same place since I bought the car, 3 yrs ago. I haven''thadany kind of dash lights come on indicating a problem. I have the oil changed like clock work and I don''t drive it "hard". The car has over 190,000 miles. I did put the injector cleaner in a couple days ago and it seems to be helping. Thanks, arzkttn |
Does it do this all the time, or only when it warms up? Has the ECTS (engine coolant temperature sensor) ever been changed?
