I have a 1997 saturn sl2...im 18...so I like loud music naturally...i was wondering if anyone on here knows how to take off that plastic piece in the back...the piece that goes across the trunk and looks like a light...that is the only thing i havent been able to keep from rattling...i just need to knwo if you can take it off...or not...i need to dynamat behind it to get rid of the rattles...and help would be appreciated...thanks...

Its held in place with 10mm nuts. Open the trunk and you can access them from the back side.

I wouldnt recommend using dynomat. I disassembles my rear reflector, sprayed the mating surfaces with Roadkill spray on deadener and put it all back together wet.

My trunk sounds solid as a rock.

i tried getting it off today...we found clamps on the underside...we couldnt get them off...an d we didnt risk breaking it...we didnt see any bolts or nuts on the inside of the trunk...unless theyre way up somewhere we cant reach...i have a roll of dynamat...i just put it where i want it and roll it in so it sticks...worked perfectly on the top of my trunk...ill see if i can find those bolts..
