I bought my SL2 over a year ago. When i bought it the top end made a constant ticking noise that seemed to come from the cams. I decided to replace the head with a fresh rebuilt one. After all that work guess what it still ticks. I''ve put over 10K on it since i did the head change. It doesn''t seem to effect the way the car runs it''s just a loud tick. It does change with RPM. Saturn mechanic i talked to told me it was normal. Anybody have any idea why it does it and better yet how i can stop it?

If a Saturn Mechanic said it is normal, doesn''t sound like he was trying to hard sell you a new head for a 13 year old car.
Solution: Don''''t worry be happy. Your 13 year old Saturn runs quite happily and should not have valve issues, valve guide seal oil burning issues, etc for a long time to come if the head was remanufactured correctly. Could the ticking be injector noise? Derf Edited by: derf |
