Hey everyone, The car is a 1993 Saturn SC1 (automatic). The engine light stays on. The problem is the idle. Say i pull up to a red light. Wait a few seconds... Now my cars RPM gauge drops slowly, starts shaking and wants to stall. It has stalled a few times, but the only thing to keep it from stalling (temporarily) is shifting to neutral, and giving it gas. I either have to hold the gas pedal, or keep revving it... as you could imagine, this is really annoying. I''ve took it to first choice muffler, 9 mile and van dyke, i live in the Roseville area of Michigan. The told me it was a ESC module. I''''ve never heard of it. I''ve googled it and apparently its an Electronic Spark Control Module. When i called, they wouldn''t give me any info, probably of fear i wouldn''t go back to get it fixed. Any help is appreciated greatly. -Scott- Edited by: Dieselboy440 |
When was the last time you did a clean-up on the throttle/intake system and wash out any built up deposits of soot, grime and gunk ?? Also, find someone who can read the old codes stored in your computer ...Edited by: OceanArcher |
Since this is ODB I, you can use a paper clip to short the A and B terminals of the ODB I diag connector and count the dash lights flashing to get the codes...search the forum...
