I have a 2001 SL2 with 138,000 miles. Some days the car runs great, and other days I receive an idiot light (service engine soon). When the light is on, the only code I get is a camshaft position sensor warning. It runs rough (idles irregular) when the light is on, but if and when the light goes out, it idles fine. I have cleaned the ERG, install new plugs and wires, and it has a fresh oil change with new filter. I think it may be the O2 sensor, air idle control, or maybe clugged fuel injectors. But why no code? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks....Ron Edited by: sw2cam |
Check for corrosion where the ignition module contacts the transmission bell housing.
Another possible cause would be the crank position sensor. |
