Recently my 93 Saturn SL2 was stolen new years eve Day... sadly, it was gone for a couple weeks then showed up a couple cities away. Cops said it was just ditched. Turns out there's a dead battery and it wont start. Well, we recharged the battery and it starts. Now the problem is that it wont go into gear. I'm really discouraged. My dad is trying to figure it out and I just want to help out.

Suggestions/tips/websites? anything..

Possibly a broken shifter bushing? Does the shifter just flop around?

 

It doesn't flop around it appears to ingage in the transaxle
