Default Carpet cleaning products.

I have my 1994 SL and, it is nasty on the inside. Mold, mildew, pet fur, possible puke, who knows. This is way worse than anything you have seen on Top Gear, this car is downright nasty.

So that brings me to my question. Carpet cleaners: What's the best? What have you guys used with great success?

I have used this one.

Blue Magic.

It's really good at getting funky smells out. It got the smoke smell out of my Explorer when I quit smoking. I'm just not sure about stains and actually killing the microorganisms that are residing in my floor board.

I'm just wondering if there may be something better. I'm also not opposed to removing the carpet entirely and cleaning it that way, with a hose and scrub brush. I just need some advice on what to use and how to do it.

I'm an idiot. Mods, you know what to do.

Edit: Wait, is this the right spot for this thread? or is this the place to discuss a specific cleaner and give it a review? I'm confused.

I've used the Bluemagic stuff before. It's as good as anything else I can think of. Resolve works pretty good too.

Me .......... I use 4 parts alcohol 1 part water. So in your case 8 bottles of alcohol and two same size of water and you may have enough to clean your mess.

Why alcohol ............. leaves no soap residue for new dirt to stick to.

Resolve you say? I might give that a try.

That is an excellent idea. I have a feeling it may take a mixture of things to get the desired result, this will definitely help clean out the little critters living in the carpet realm.

To give you an idea, this is what I'm dealing with.

Damn, that's nasty! You may need it all! The alcohol will help kill any fungus or mold. White vinegar is a great cleaner too. Just be sure to test any of these things in an inconspicuous spot first.

How long have you had that car and is all that stuff yours or was it in the car when you got it? I'd never buy a car that frigging nasty, but I'm kind of **** about keeping my cars clean both inside and under the hood.
