I have a blown rear speaker in my 1993 SL (I'm not shocked after all it is a 93) I was wondering how to remove the cover to get to the speaker. I have looked all around it and I don't want to tear anything up by just popping it off. Any suggestions are welcome ~ I thank you in advance.

I've got a 92' so it's probably a similar procedure. You're going to need to either reach into the trunk or fold down the rear seats so you can get at the bottom of the speaker deck. There should be 4 metal fasteners on four pegs on each cover; one at each corner surrounding bottom side of thespeaker. Remove these by turning by hand, and then the speaker cover should pull out.

Yepp, You are exactly right. One Bummer is that the covers that they have placed over the speaker its self is soldered on the three pegs kinda as if they were hot melted to stay in place. So I did end up popping them off and breaking them..... I Thank God for the Hot Glue gun [img]smileys/smiley2.gif[/img]. All went well overall... I ended up finding a pair of brand new generic speakers for 5 bucks (clearance sale) so it was not only a great deal on the speakers but I learned something new today.

There are actually hex type bolts, held in place with small plastic pieces. What I did was just push up on those from underneath, and the speaker just popped right out, without breaking the stock cover.
