i have a rather powerful amp in my car, about 1000 watts,
so i been looking into doing the big 3 electrical update, ya know (1. Bat neg to chassis wire
2. Engine to chassis wire
3. Alternator to bat pos wire
)
but i come to a problem, saturn alternators r a b*** to get to, tryin to figure this one out. dont wanna do it myself but i dont wanna pay a ton of money to get it done

The alternator is easily accessable from under the car. Depending on how many miles are on the car, and since you'd have to remove the alternator to install the cable, might want to replace it now.

wait, i have to actually remove the alternator 4 the cable?
thats the point of doing this upgrade, to save buyin expensive things, the car has 80000...

You dont have to, but the chances of damaging the alternator by doing it in place are greater. To remove the attaching nut for the fusable link, you have to hold the base of the terminal from rotating. This is pretty difficult to do with the alternator in the car. When removing an alternator, I disconnect the fusable link at the starter and remove the alternator with the fuasble link still attached. That way you have better access to properly remove the nut securing the fusable link to the alternator. If the terminal spins in place, you've destroyed the alternator.

At 80,000 you're driving on borrowed time, assuming its the original. Doing the "big 3" upgrade wont save your alternator.

i'm not tryin to save my alternator, just tryin to stablilize my electrical so my lights dont dim

Its a PCM ground. Theres another one on the back of the block, two more on the left bell housing to block bolt and two more on the drivers side frame rail.
