I have a 97 SL2 and the power stering pump and rack need to be replaced. Have any of you performed this job, and if so how hard was it? Thanks

Yes, I''ve done this. Took me 45 minutes. But I work on Saturns a lot. Once you get the parts, its should just take an afternoon.

It only took 45 min for the pump and the rack? I hope I can do it on a day then.

To get the pump out easier, support the engine from below with a jack. Then remove the upper engine mount and remove the two lower engine mount to cradle nuts. Then jack up the engine as far as it will go to get access to the pump mounting bolts.Edited by: Low Saturn
