Default Dreaded P0420 code

Well folks this is one code I didn't wanna see pop up on the service tool today. From what I've read 9 times out of 10 this means my cat is clogged up. With the luck that I have the header and cat are one piece. Looking around the only one I've seen to buy is made by magnaflow and depending on where you buy it's around 500 dollars. Now I don't know for sure if a clogged cat is the problem. But with my experience with p0420's it's always been a bad cat. Anyone out there know a place that sells exhaust parts for cheaper price on this Black Friday? By the way this part is for a 08 astra.

Also I hope everyone out there on saturnforum.com. had a wonderful thanksgiving!

Cheers!!

Here's one time I'm going to break away from my usual stance WRT replacement parts for your Saturn. Check with your local muffler shops for an after-market unit. I had the old one cut out, and the new one welded in in less than an hour for a total cost of $175 by a non-franchise shop here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Good luck with your search

Seriously, derf? After a year, you're asking? And I still haven't heard from OA or gotten that check yet. Phone #'s I had for him no longer work! Really? Over $66, someone changes their #? LOL

Oops. Late at night....thought it was from this year. Ya nailed me.
He changed his CELL number too?
Can't all be because of you. Maybe hiding from bill collectors.
Maybe I'll email him sometime to see how he's doing....

If you do, tell the old fart I'm still waiting on that check and hope he's enjoying the free speedometers he got.

Long time no see. Problem still has not been fixed. I ended up getting a company van and the car has just been sitting really. Have not really messed with it to much.
