Default 2008 aura XR?

I have a 2008 Aura XR with the 3.6 motor with 42,000 miles on it and I'm getting a klunk or thud at times from the front end when going from forward to reverse and upon accelleration no hard or loud but it is there. I've jacked up each side and shaken things and can not feel anything .I'm wondering if it could be a motor mount. Any experts out there????

I am not familiar exactly with the Aura XR but I have gotten into my share of Front wheel drive cars. There can be any number of motor mounts that position the engine from rotating and swinging side to side. Some times up to 5 of them. I have seen and replaced one or some times all. In part it depends on how the car is driven. The harder you drive it the more prone it is to breaking motor mounts. I drove one 270,000 miles with out breaking one.
My neighbors son broke all of his on the same car, regularly. I wonder why?
Then of course I owned a Lincoln that broke things I had no clue you could even break.
I sold it.

Intermediate Steering Shaft.

ALL GM cars on trucks from like 1997-2009 have or will have this.

Search it. Pretty easy DIY to lube it.
