Default amp before trunk?

As many of you know, the 2001 l300 came with an optional "advanced audio" package complete with a sub and higher quality speakers. I am trying to put a pair of rockford fosgate punch subs in the rear, and was going to try to use the same wire for the original sub so i can skip some wiring, yet this wire is not powered. What would be the easiest way to get power to the trunk, and would i be able to set the amp up at the start of the existing sub wire and use it to power the punches. This is kinda a confusing question, so if there's anything i can do to make it clearer, id be happy to

With an approprately rated fuse/breaker at the battery. I spent some years in car audio and have seen and repaired some real diy disasters that didn't need to be. Yes, I know...ancient thread but folks still read them and it makes it look like there's somebody home.
