OK - I'll bite, why are you concerned about that part, if I may be so bold as to ask ???

I'm having a check engine light issue and according to my mechanic it's an issue with the air injection system and he told me this valve is probably causing the issue.

He knows the name of the part in Spanish which doesn't really help me so I figured I'd give this forum a try.

That is a reed valve. Its job is to allow air from the air pump to go into the exhaust but not allow exhaust gasses to get back to the air pump. It is not likely to be your problem this time of the year unless you are living in an area that is below freezing already. This can give you a P0310 if water gets into it and freezes.

If the air pump is OK, and it probably is, then your problem is most likely in the exhaust manifold. You see that SS pipe that comes out the right side of the reed valve and goes to a port in the exhaust manifold between the #2 and #3 cylinders? Unbolt this pipe and then clear the passage in the manifold between this port and the exhaust stream. I use spray Gumout or similar carburetor cleaner to do this. Poke the red flexible tube that comes on the can into this passageway to make sure it gets cleared out good.

BTW, it is easy to take the reed valve apart to clean it if you want. It wont help with your problem but it might make you feel better. They tend to look like crap inside but that doesn't keep them from working.
