Stop in the new member sub-forum and introduce yourself to the gang. You really want to use this site for help and info......get your post count up to ten. If not your account will be shut down like thousands of others.

Because these transmissions have an overall good reputation I'd go find a used replacement. The other option is converting to a manual. That's only if the car has not been trashed. A nice clean WELL SERVIVED 2003 ION I'd fix in a heartbeat, and in a year when it hit 200,000 I'd replace an engine if a rod popped out the side of the block.
