My 99 SL1 has a little over 100k miles onit and I want to do some maintenance to it. Can someone tell me were the fuel filter and Engine coolant temp sensoris located. Is it worth while replacing the O2 sensors or ignition coilsat this time? What else would be recommended. I already put in new pluggs and wires. |
This thresd will cover the CTS.
http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37884 I would not replace the o2 sensor or ignition control module which include the coil packs unless there was an error code that indicated there is a problem. The ignition control module can also be cleaned and then tested. 02 sensor=$80 ICM=$280 Follow the fuel lines to find the fuel filter. Mine is located on the drivers side half way down the fire wall. I have 148,000 miles and have never replaced the fuel filter. Luck I guess. I would replace the air filter after inspection. And check the serpentine belt for wear and cracking. Most important- is to change and check the oil levels, these cars tend to start burning oil as these motors age. Hope this helps. |
I was just told by Pepboys that this car does not have a fuel filter? They told me it has a strainer in the tank and there is no filter. |
I would double check that response by calling a Saturn Dealer and asking that question to be sure that is the correct information.
