intermittent starting problem on 2001 sl2

I am having some issues with a starting problem with my 2001 SL2. The problem is intermittent. So when I start the car, all the lights come on but the car will not crank, nothing happens, no noise at all. I even tried putting it in neutral but that still does not work. After about 20mins of letting the car just sit, the car will start right up. I know its not the battery or the parking censor on the shifter. What could it be?

Your starter is probably going bad. You can tap on the starter from the top to confirm. The problem will only get worse. The brushes/springs are usually worn out. Do you hear a click near the starter when trying to start?

Intermiten start sl1 2000

I just to share my same issue with my saturn 2000 sl1. going to point a to b is no problem but when i stop to do some errand, that is when the car will not start and i would have to wait 20 to 30 minutes before it will start. i turn the key and all the light light up but no crank and i hear the fuel pump. at first i thought it was the fuel pump so i pull the fuel pump fuse but the issue is different from what is going on. the dealer mention about vacum leak which cause the issue but the was fix already and the issue is still there. somebody mention about my ignition key since i could pull my key while the car is running. i started replacing the starter same issue so i search the web and i found a post that mention it is a know issue for saturn with intermitent start and the saturn tech knows the issue is the ignition module so i went to the local junk yard and got me a ignition module and it's been a 4 weeks with no issue. hope this helps

All I did was change my battery and it stopped - literally happened last week. It could be a whole list of problems.
