Oh man! Just checking to find out why engine is missing a little. Pulled the first plug wire and there was 2 inches of oil in the tube! The other three tubes were clean, so I'm running on 3 cylinders. I am assuming a cracked or broken ring. Anybody have similar experience to this? How difficult/expensive to fix?

Gave it some more thought. Oil past a cracked ring would be burned up or at least pushed out.

Sounds like valve/cam cover gasket issue. Each cyl has an o-ring like seal around the spark plug well. Probably all it is.

Replace wires and plugs first. Once you confirm all cyls are good, go after the gasket.

Throw in a compression test to set your mind at ease.

Hope this helps

The cam cover is leaking................nothing more. Replace it. Do not replace the wires and plugs first. All thats going to do is soak the new plug and wire in oil as the cam cover keeps leaking.Edited by: sw2cam

Indeed, you do not want to wreck a brand new set of wires. Obviously not thinking clearly.......

My bad.

Thanks for keeping me honest, sw2cam.....

Turbo.....................how did everything go? All is well we hope.

I replaced plugs and tightened them down appropriately and tightened the valve cover; also put in a bottle of oil treatment to swell various seals. So far, so good. I'm checking it weekly when I visit. Thanks for the advice, guys.

Sooner or later that cam cover gasket will need replacing. Might get yourself one and be ready for it.

I thought as much. Probably a good idea. Will do. Thanks.
