Online scams are huge and many unsuspecting sellers are getting caught in creative scams. Cashiers checks seems to be the easiest way to scam you out of your money.

Thanks for the positive comment... one guy said that only stupid people fall for this! I dont agree, scammers are very smart and usually desperate.

I had sold a pick up on ebay, and the person tried to scam me. You don't have to be stupid to fall for a scam, just unaware of the scam. I was waiting for him to send the check, when my Pastor found some info on Snopes.com. Once I knew the scam, I got in touch with the FBI and started saving emails that the person sent. I kept trying to get him to send the check, but he never did. I wanted to set up a sting. My plan was to get the check, then tell him my bank was holding it due to some scams. At that point I should have had some contact information to give the feds. Unfortunatly, he never sent the check...

I advise even though I am not a lawyer by no means, is to make sure you do business in person. This will lessen the chance of being scammed. At any rate, be careful and good luck whenever selling your item online or not!

Well, I have bought two vehicles online that were from out of state dealers and had no problems. The only time I was nearly scammed was when I went to sell a pickup on ebay. You are absolutly right about doing business in person though. I flew down to the dealership before I ever sent a dime...

I have had many emails sent to me from people that have been scammed. Seems motorcycles are notorius for scam artists. I don't know why but that is what I have noticed.

I'm very impressed. I was in the market for a vehicle a few weeks ago and after searching your site found about 50 that matched my criteria!!! Well, nothing I can do about it now.

Thank you for the compliment!
I like to go to forums and get to know what people think about different makes and models.
Last Mother's Day I bought my Mom a car. I researched and researched and chatted with many car owners. I am a truck man so I needed some help and info from car owners. When all was said and done I was deciding between a saturn and a honda. When I gave my Mom the choice she decided on the Honda with a spoiler. She is 72!
