I'm new to the forum and need advice on a 2003-2005 LW300. I'm considering getting one but don't know much about their reliability or what to watch out for. They just look like they would fit for me; quick, comfortable and roomy. There is an '03 here locally for $5,400 with 112,000 miles. I offered $4,000 he said no. What should I be aware of with these cars? Is there much room for performance mods? How are they in the snow; they seem a little low? Thanks in advance.

Performance mods are very slim, but I'll let either sw2cam or one of the other fellas tell you more there. As far as ground clearance, the car will never become a "trail rider"

Do these cars have the CVT transmission?

Daughter has a LW300, and the car has been outstanding. Performance mods, not going to happen. Daughter and Son-In-Law take the wagon on ski trips and have not come back bitching about it. No they DO-NOT have a cvt trans.

Thanks all. My Jeep was just totaled so I'm looking for an LW300. Is there a year that was better than others? I like the 2003-2005.

The newer the better don't I'd say ........... the least amount of miles the better.

The "don't I'd say" part is making me nervous.
