Has anyone ever heard about a knock sensor it is suppose to pick up noises
that your motor makes & changes the timing???????:confused:
Hay DERF have you ever heard of such a sensor????????????

The knock sensor detects spark "knock" also called "detonation". on a vehicle where ignition timing is controlled by computer, the knock sensor tells the computer whether to advance or retard the timing to make it stop detonating.

Anyway, welcome back.

Indeed there is a knock sensor, and it's function is as Pain indicated - our S cars do in fact have a knock sensor.

And please do not type everything in bold -- it's annoying on the eyes
