I just purchased a used 1996 SL-2 with 77,000 miles on in it this last August. It has been running fine until about a month ago. I got a P0341 Camshaft positionsensor "A" circuit range/performance, bank 1 fault. Couldn't find any info on it and the car still ran great. Reset the code with no problem. Then this morning, after sitting all night, I got a service engine soon light when I started her up this morning. Got home from work and reset the same code again.

What is the possible problem and how do I fix it? http://www.saturnforum.com/smileys/smiley6.gif I've got my emissions test that has to be done between now and April, will this give me a problem?

Thanks.

There is no Camshaft position sensor. However, Saturn has come up with a way to determine the position of the camshaft from electrical pulses sent through the ignition wires. The cause of your problem is one or all of the above. Spark plugs/ignition wires/ or ignition moduoles. I would replace the spark plugs and ignition wires and clean the four bolts that hold down and provide a ground for the ignition moduole. This problem has been discussed on this forum before and I was having the same problem as well. In New York State, having your SES light on will fail the emmission portion of yourinspection. Good luck.http://www.saturnforum.com/smileys/smiley1.gif
