I have taken my 97 SL1car to the Saturn dealer and they said the leak was coming from sunroof, which was just replaced. [img]smileys/smiley19.gif[/img]But still getting water just on the driverside floor. It appears to have water in the two vents on the left side of the dashboard. Any ideas?

 

it may be a leaking coolant or an overflowing drain for the airconditioning condensate is another possibility.

 

you should pull out the carpet to dry it out and see if more leaks are
coming, then tracing it and immediately take care of the situation
should end the problem. </span><br style="color: rgb(51, 0, 255);">
the </span>door seals may need some replacing. </span>

It could also be the heating coil, However I've only seen water on the passanger side if those go. test the water either by tast or smell to see if it's water or coolant

the water only appears after a rain or snow storm. the window itself does not appear to be wet, though the side of the dashboard and the speaker on the door have residue of water as well as the floor.

Ok Question for you. It only appears when it rains or snows, Is that after you have driving or when it's sitting there and it rains the first time you go to the car it's got water? If it's when it's just sitting there sit in the car and have some one pour water on it using a water hose. But have them be smart about it. start at the hood right before the windshield, have them move up to the grate between the hood and the windshield and hold it there for a few minutes. then go up the winshield to the top of the seal. then have them do the door seals and the side windows. The do the sunroof last. The whole time they are doing this watch the problem areas where you are getting the water (the floor and the2 vents) ALSO watch the sealwhere the water is currently being applied. when you start seeing water and your friend didn't move the hose to fast you found your problem area. remember the leak can be in one spot but take the water a few minutes to travel to the places you are seeing it. If it happens after you have drove check the floorboards under the car, however this doesn't explain the vents. i think the a/c and the heater have some sort of water seperator to remove large quanities of water but still allow moisture threw. IFFF that's the case it could be broke or you have a hole in the system after this allowing water to come threw the vent onto the floor. Remember I'm not a mechanic, Chris
