//--></>Can anyone assit me? I have a 02 SL2, it has 35k is 1.9l DOHC Automatic Trans. Salavge title(was hit slightly in front and airbags did deploy, was fixed and put back on road) Has run fine for about 8000 miles since. Problem 1. Something is draining the battery and fast. I have replaced battery, alternator, steering column. Problem 2. The transmission will not change gears and sometimes not go into reverse after has run about 5 minutes. The radio has gone off and on. Dash has frozen(tach and speedo) in place. Is the a ECM or BMC problem? or am I looking in the wrong direction? Is this car known for electrical problems?

Is this car known for electrical problems? No this car is not known for electrical problems.

You can play around for ever. You can take it to every shop in town and spend all the money you can come up with. Do yourself a favor and spend as little money as possible and take it to those that know the car better then anyone. Go to your nearest Saturn dealer. Remember you have already bought a battery, alternator, steering columnand have fixed nothing only spent money.

The transmission problem is really what sound scary. You dont have any gears? The battery drain that the other electrical problems could be related.

So all the problems probably tie in together then...

I think that the problems may all tie together. It's bad to hear about things like that, and i'm sorry about it...

If you are having problems like that, it seems like you are having quite the electrical problem, and to replace wiring in acar is a hefty job...ouch.

I dont know anything about vehicular electronics, but it does make sense since (that was neat) everything started happening at the same time.

That would probably be the best thing you can do to make sure everything is running right. I mean, check all your fuses and relays yourself, just to rule out the easiest thing. In the end sw2 is probably right, just take it to the dealership (or other qualified mechanic)
